Hedgehog Helpline, Cardiff
Charity No: 1046156
If you find a Hedgehog in need please call or text us, if the Hedgehog requires urgent attention please contact your local vet and ask them to call us.
Hedgehog Helpline was founded in 1988 by Keith Jones and became a registered charity in 1995.
Please understand that the phone line is managed by volunteers, most of whom work, but we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We are a Charity Led and run by volunteers, without our volunteers who work tirelessly to care for hedgehogs we would not be able to run.
We take in sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs with the intention of returning them to the wild once they are fully recovered and able to survive. All of our advice is aimed at the European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) in the UK.
Hedgehog Helpline is run by Volunteer Trustees and have a network of over 50 volunteer carers across South East Wales.
Our Chair Graham Blow is also our specialist vet, Graham has been with us for over 30 years.
Graham took over the helm from Keith Jones our founder who retired in 2018.
Hedgehog Helpline offers practical advice and help across Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Neath, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and Cardiff areas.
If you live outside of these areas, please contact the British Hedgehog Preservation Society for information about hedgehog carers in your area or the links at the bottom of this page.
