Campaign to Strengthen the Hunting Act
The CSHA is an initiative by Protect Our Wild Animals (POWA) to persuade government to strengthen the Act to allow easier enforcement by the authorities and to enhance deterrence. Tens of thousands of hunters, even before the Hunting Act became law, signed a Declaration stating they would defy the ban. Because of loopholes in the law, they can continue to hunt and kill live quarry with little or no fear of sanction. The Hunting Act 2004 desperately needs strengthening to ensure it properly protects wild animals from the tortuous deaths it was designed to prevent.
